Titanium plates and titanium alloys have the characteristics of low density, high specific strength, high yield ratio, good plastic toughness, small thermal conductivity of titanium, and high elongation.
The stability of titanium is too good, it is difficult to develop and smelt, and even use it, so it ’s not natural for everyone to think so. In fact, titanium reserves account for 0.6% of the region, occupying the ninth place, and the reserves are very large . Titanium’s low activity depends on the situation. Titanium is very stable in normal temperature air and is not prone to any reaction, but it is very chemically active at high temperatures and can easily react with many gases. Titanium is a metal, and its thermal conductivity is naturally not slow, but relatively slower than some of our common metals. From the current data, the thermal conductivity of titanium is relatively close to that of stainless steel, which is about 14 One-fifth, about one-fifth of iron, has great potential in the automotive industry.
The application of titanium plates in the shipbuilding industry mainly uses its excellent corrosion resistance, as well as low density, memory, and non-magnetic properties. Titanium and titanium alloys are widely used in nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, atomic icebreakers, hydrofoils, hovercrafts, minesweepers, propellers, whip antennas, seawater pipelines, condensers, heat exchangers, acoustic devices, fire fighting equipment First class. The main applications of titanium alloys are: industrial pure titanium, Ti-SARV, Ti-6A1-4VELKTi-6Al-2Nb-Ta-0.8Mo, Ti-3AI-2.5V and Ti-3B (Ti-4A1-2V), nT- 7M (Ti-2Al-2.5Zr).
- (1) All titanium ship. F1 has good practical experience in manufacturing titanium ships. In the 1990s, Toho Titanium, Nissan Industries, Fujishin Shipbuilding, Jiangteng Shipbuilding, etc. all built all-titanium fishing boats or speedboats. The advantages of the all-titanium ship are light weight, fast speed, small engine, low fuel cost, low carbon dioxide emissions, no need for surface coating, and easy to clean up attachments. The disadvantages are high material cost, difficulty in titanium machining and manufacturing technology, and protection requirements strict. The test results show that the ship’s speed stability, vibration and noise performance are very good.
- (2) Atomic power ship. Russia uses titanium alloy instead of stainless steel to manufacture steam engines, heat exchangers and coolers of ships. It has overcome corrosion damage. Titanium steam engines are widely used in the power plant of Russia’s existing atomic power icebreakers. The use of titanium alloy can extend the service life of the engine by more than 10 times.
- (3) Propeller. The propeller material requires high strength, good fatigue performance in seawater media, resistance to erosion and cavitation corrosion. Titanium alloy can meet the above comprehensive performance requirements. The US Navy first used a 1500mm diameter, four-blade detachable supercavity titanium alloy propeller on the hydrofoil. China developed into a hydrofoil speedboat propeller in 1972. So far it has produced various types of titanium alloy propellers with a diameter of 450-1700mm. M can produce fixed titanium alloy propellers with a diameter of 1200mm and a mass of 130kg. Long-term use shows that the service life of titanium alloy propellers is more than 5 times that of copper alloy propellers.
- (4) Ship pumps, valves and piping systems. The pumps, valves and pipes of the ship are only used for 2-5 years due to the extremely poor working conditions. The pipes made of copper and stainless steel have a life span of only 2-5 years. After the replacement of the titanium alloy, the effect is good. It is suitable for high-speed dynamic seawater pipelines. The life standard of the Russian ship pipeline stipulates three years of requirements, that is, the first time to enter the dock for repair is 8-9 years; the service life should be no less than 15 years; the full life requires that all classes of ships should be at 25 Reliable operation during -30 years.
