In the modification of exhaust pipes, the mainstream materials on the market are stainless steel and titanium alloy. There are three biggest differences between titanium alloy and stainless steel: weight, heat dissipation, sound quality.
Weight
Stainless steel material is about one-third lighter than the original. However, titanium alloy material can even be reduced by half or more, but the price of titanium alloy products is too high, and it is difficult for consumers to accept. At the same time, the rigidity of titanium alloy is higher than that of stainless steel. Therefore, most players who want the most lightweight will choose titanium alloy exhaust pipe.
The heat dissipation of titanium alloy is much higher than that of stainless steel. The advantage of this point is that it has a greater significance for the surround after protection and the exhaust spoiler. On the other hand, the exhaust temperature that titanium alloy can withstand is also higher than that of stainless steel.
Sound quality
The wall of the all-titanium exhaust is very thin (the material thickness of a good stainless steel exhaust system is generally about 2mm), so when the high-speed exhaust wave passes, there will be a splitting sound, which is sharp and harsh and slightly loose . The sound wave of stainless steel exhaust is relatively low-key and thick, unlike the style of titanium alloy exhaust, the sound quality is biased toward the low-yin route.
